Write Bravely

Now that I am supporting a family–I’m a working gal by day outside the house, mommy by afternoon and early night, it is a struggle to squeeze in time to write. I came across this AMAZING inspirational quote/image.

It’s now my screen saver!

I’m a semi-retired author/editor/journalist. My goals are most likely different than say the more youthful writer that eventually might like a full-time career, writing.

It is very difficult to find the time to write, especially raising a family, but it isn’t impossible. If you’re doing it to earn a living, then of course your priorities are going to be different. If it is the potential for making extra income, then this again sets your sights differently. I probably don’t have to tell anyone here (on this site) that writing is about your infatuation with words; and believe me, you do have to love words to be a writer. For me it is oxygen.

I’d say, set realistic goals. If you’re dependent on writing to buy that next package of diapers, then put the baby on your back and get to typing! Otherwise, relax; write something every day, if you can, even if it’s just a sentence, and eventually it will flow like a river meandering through and down a country-side.
